This year marks a significant milestone in horror cinema as MPI Media Group, together with Dark Sky Films, honors the 50th anniversary of ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.’ The company has organized a series of unique and engaging events to celebrate this iconic film.

The celebrations commenced with a bang at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival in Austin, Texas. Here, MPI Media Group grabbed the attention of horror film lovers with a live ice sculpture event on Rainey Street. An Austin-based artist skillfully used a chainsaw to carve a representation of the film’s new 50th-anniversary logo, paying a fitting tribute to the movie’s notorious character, Leatherface.

Further heightening the excitement, MPI Media Group provided attendees a chance to capture memories with the ice sculpture while also promoting the upcoming ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: 50th Anniversary Chainsaw Edition’ collector’s set. This unique set is poised to include a new 4K UHD edition of the film, a Blu-ray with bonus features, and a special VHS release, all housed in an intricately designed chainsaw-shaped box that plays sounds from the film.
